I'm
a broken down man in a broken down vehicle,
Waiting
for the breakdown van to appear.
I
set out this morning,
Didn't
think that there'd be trouble,
The
engine started smoothly
And
the lights came on.
No
hint of problems,
Just
a hint of the wind chill,
Turned
on the ignition,
I
was going, going, gone.
But,
sitting in the office,
The
snow came down steadily,
The
car waited patiently,
Never
shouting its alarm.
The
lights continued blazing,
Draining
the battery,
Once
more I'd forgotten,
Causing
automotive harm.
At
the end of the day,
I
got my comeuppance,
No
spark from the spark plugs,
To
the phone I had to go.
Rung
up the AA,
Begging
for assistance,
Feeling
rather stupid,
And
freezing and so -
I'm
a broken down man in a broken down vehicle,
Waiting
for the breakdown van to appear.
I'm
a broken down man in a broken down vehicle,
When
they come, I'll be ready, to let out one almighty cheer!
